AYŞE KİRAZ/ERZURUM İBRAHİM HAKKI SCIENCE HIGH SCHOOL

The following outcomes were integrated into the project activities. In line with these acquisitions, students introduced themselves in digital environments, made presentations on historical, cultural areas, inspiring people, wrote stories and poems. In addition, with this project, our students had the opportunity to go abroad and had the chance to learn by speaking English in that country. During the visit to Georgia, they saw many historical places, had cultural interaction with foreign students and learnt by living in life.With the below achievements, our students can design logos, posters, brochures,They carried out eSafety studies and introduced themselves in the digital environment. Students read a story about nature and made comments on it. They also prepared promotional videos for the school and the city they live in. They wrote an acrostic poem working collaboratively.

Etwinning project “The Tale of Two Cities” is integrated in the school curriculum of English as a second language:

Iუცხ.საშ.1. Listening/reading and understanding texts of different genres using language-grammatical means, knowledge of genre characteristics, and strategies to obtain the necessary information

Iუცხ.საშ.2. Using linguistic-grammatical means, knowledge of genre features and strategies to establish oral/spoken communication in different physical or virtual communication situations

Iუცხ.საშ.3. Using language-grammatical means, knowledge of genre characteristics and strategies in written speech/writing to establish communication in different communication situations, in traditional or electronic format.

 

Iუცხ.საშ.4. Make the content of oral or written texts of various genres in a foreign language accessible to interested parties (e.g, teammates, foreign peers) through translation, interpretation, summarization or interpretation.

 

Iუცხ.საშ.5 Understanding, appreciating, and sharing the similarities and differences between the socio-cultural contexts and cultures of different countries to promote dialogue between different linguistic-cultural social groups

Students have achieved a lot in the process of the project. They have successfully used their skills and knowledge while obtaining necessary information about the project, prepared presentations about their school, city, traditional dances, music, foods, and items and gave presentations while meeting online. They were able to do collaborative work for preparing an ebook. They found out a lot of important information about the cultural and historical events of the city and were able to be guides for their peers from Erzurum during their visit to Tbilisi. They were able to communicate with them easily and establish bonds between the two cities.

 

Maia

According to the project “The Tale of Two Cities” students have to work on the computer most of the time and use different digital WEB 2 tools. They integrated the curriculum to the project activities.

All along the project, students protected their own and other students’ rights in the digital world, they followed the rules of internet security, and used different kinds of computer programs and ICT tools. Georgian students were able to work collaboratively and independently, find necessary information online, share their information, and prepare and present different presentations.
